TAHOE SPARK (Supporting Permanent Affordable Residential Kilowatts), is a committed advocacy organization and 501(c)(4) nonprofit, dedicated to advocating for Liberty Utilities (CalPECO) customers. Our team comprises specialists in energy, regional planning, and public policy, supported by legal experts and expert witnesses in rate-setting matters. We emphasize transparent communication with Liberty Utilities, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), and local governments on behalf of our permanent residents to secure energy at affordable rates. All previous negotiations have taken place without any input from the permanent residents living the communities within Liberty Utilities’ service area, including many small rural communities with aging populations, lower wages, lack of access to jobs, and challenges related to affordable housing and rising energy costs.
