Our Mission
Our mission is to ensure access to clean energy, safe infrastructure, and equitable rate setting for permanent residents across Plumas County, Alpine County, El Dorado County, Placer County, Sierra County, Mono County, Nevada County, and the City of South Lake Tahoe, California.
We remain alert to proposals that could affect residential rates, ensuring that the voices of our communities are effectively represented now and into the future
Regional Representation
Our team consists of specialists in energy, regional planning, and public policy who are familiar with the challenges in our rural communities. Our knowledge of these issues allows us to advocate effectively alongside legal experts and expert witnesses in rate-setting matters.
Tahoe Spark has filed protests, motions, and public comments raising concerns regarding:
- Exclusion of Liberty Utilities territory from California planning and affordability frameworks
- Visitor-driven peak demand costs
- Wildfire insurance and infrastructure recovery
- Interstate procurement and lack of transparent wholesale cost formation and allocation
Transparency
We emphasize transparent communication with Liberty Utilities, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), and local governments on behalf of our permanent residents to secure energy at affordable rates.
